Standard Lidar Certification
Have you ever seen this piece
of equipment before?
Probably Not.
This Lidar test equipment costs tens of thousands of dollars.
You will see it when we certify your Lidar units on-site!
This is the only Lidar certification equipment approved by the National Highway Safety Administration / National Institute of Standards and Technology / and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
Certifying your department’s LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) units is a critical standard for ensuring the legal defensibility of citations and the professional credibility of your officers.
LIDAR is a high-precision tool, but it is not immune to error if neglected.
- Performance: Certification ensures the unit meets the minimum performance requirements established by the NHTSA and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP).
- Regular Calibration: Units should typically be certified by a technician every 1–3 years (depending on state law and manufacturer specs) to account for internal drift or physical damage that might affect the laser’s timing or aim.
- Reliability: Certification confirms the device operates within accuracy standards (typically +/- 1-2 mph).
